Size of the Wand: Memoir of a Female Magician This is my search, as a Filipina-American, for family and belonging within the predominantly male tradition of Las Vegas magicians. It's a hilarious and heartbreaking adventure about trying to fit into communities that are not always welcoming. We’ll go behind the curtain and meet amateur and celebrity magicians. Together, readers come with me on an international journey, from a young person in Chicago taking magic lessons, to becoming a Las Vegas magician, training as a casino blackjack dealer, and competing at the Fédération Internationale des Sociétés Magiques, the World Championship of Magic.
